If you didn’t already know, the New England Patriots and the New York Giants will be competing in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5, 2012. There are girls out there that could tell you who the Giants tight end is and well, some who don’t know if the tight end plays on offense or defense. Most girls watch simply to impress or spend time with their significant other. Whether you are a fanatic about football or don’t care, there is one thing that we can agree on- who is HOT and who is NOT. At GGF this is also know as HOT or just Under the Helmet Hot (they seem to be hot until they take their helmet off). Let’s meet some of the boys who will be playing in the big game and you let us know if they’re hot or not.
Rob Gronkowski- 6'6 Tight End for the Patriots. He is arguably the most dominant TE in the NFL and has no problem getting the ladies.
Wes Welker- Wide Receiver for the Patriots. Don't let the mustache fool you- he's pretty hot.
Tom Brady- Quarterback for the Patriots. Long hair, short hair, Uggs, no Uggs- does it matter?
Eli Manning- Quarterback for the Giants. I can't do it...I can't find him attractive. I know many of you will not agree with me. Sorry, he's just too goofy.
Victor Cruz- Wide Receiver for the Giants and is having an amazing year. He finishes every touchdown with a salsa dance which led to him receiving an offer to appear on Dancing with the Stars, which he turned down.
David Carr- Ok, so he's the backup Quarterback for the Giants. Someone will have to go in if Eli goes down right?
In 2008, Eli's dad Archie had to make room in his trophy case for another son's Super Bowl MVP award- big brother Peyton won the year before!
It’s cold outside but this really is the best time of year- it’s the NFL Playoffs! Did you know four former Super Bowl MVP’s play this weekend?- Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, and Tom Brady. Who would you want on your team?
Last year, Aaron Rodgers achieved something Brett Favre never did: A Super Bowl MVP award.
In 2010, Drew Brees not only won the Super Bowl MVP award but led the New Orleans Saints to their first world championship!
Tom has won three Super Bowls and was the MVP of two of them!
It was officially announced today Madonna will be performing during the halftime show of this years Super Bowl. Seriously?!??!?! The most watched sporting event in the world and Madonna is chosen? I understand she is known worldwide but I also know she is over 50 years old and hasn’t been relevant in years…unless you count keeping track of her young boyfriends. Her current one may not be able to stay up to watch her perform since it will probably be after his bedtime!
Apparently, she will be collaborating with Cirque du Soleil for the show. Yawwwwwwwwwwn. What do you think? I hope they book others to perform too!
What a sad ending to a great weekend! I had a great time celebrating my birthday with family and friends but I couldn’t say the same about watching the last 10 minutes of the Skins/Cowboys game. I know our season is over but why do I still get anxiety when they show a glimmer of hope? At least we scored some points, Rexy played a decent game and we didn’t hurt our 2012 draft position in the meantime!
Angela Rypien
As I mentioned in my last blog, I was 11 years old when the Skins won their last Super Bowl. Mark Rypien was our QB and his daughter Angela was only a year old. Now 21, Angela is the QB for the Seattle Mist in the Lingerie Football League. I’m sure it was a little awkward when daddy first saw her in this uniform. She plays because she loves the game, not because of the money because she actually doesn’t get paid! You have to love what you’re doing when you don’t get paid a dime to do it. Tiki and fiance Traci
Former Giants RB Tiki Barber was scheduled to marry to his fiancé Traci Lynn Johnson next spring but they have hit a small snag—his wife! Apparently, his wife Ginny is making things difficult and Tiki can’t afford her alimony demands. Don’t say I can blame her—in 2010 Tiki had dumped her, then pregnant with twins and after 11 years of marriage, for Johnson. I obviously don’t know all the details but I always disliked him when he played the game, questioned why he retired so early, and never liked him when he was a NBC correspondent (he was eventually fired by NBC after the affair revelations). He did make me laugh when he tried to make a comeback this year!
Troy Aikman
Another divorce…this time its former Dallas Cowboy great Troy Aikman! It was just discovered last week Aikman has been a single man for months. Troy and his ex Rhonda were married for 10 years and have two children together. I don’t think Troy will be single for as long as he keeps his body looking like this!

My Skins’ lost today. It was their 5th straight loss bringing them to 3-6. Despite my sadness, there was one bright moment from the game…I discovered the man under the helmet. This man is Matt Moore, the QB of the Miami Dolphins.
Beth and I always talk about whether a football player is hot or just “under the helmet hot”. In my opinion, Joe Flacco is a perfect example. He seems somewhat hot under the helmet but then looks more like Bert from Sesame Street when he takes it off.
I didn’t know much about Moore until today. He’s 27, played at UCLA and Oregon State, was originally signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and is pretty hot. You’re welcome ladies!
